Sanya’s population is a unique mix of various ethnic groups. The Han Chinese make up about 67% of the population, the rest is comprised of minority peoples, notably the Li, the Miao and the Hainan Hui.
Besides, the Dan, whilst not officially recognised as a minority people, they nonetheless have a very distinct and interesting culture in Sanya.
