Sanya to hold Women's World 9-Ball Championship in Dec
The 2018 Hainan (Sanya) Women’s World Nine-Ball Championship will be held from December 3rd to 9th in Sanya, according to a press held in Beijing on October 30th, 2018.
The tournament will be hosted by the following organizations: the World Pool-Billiard Association (WPA); the Chinese Billiards Association (CBSA); the Department of Culture, Radio, Television, Publication, and Sports of Hainan Province; and the Sanya Municipal People’s Government.
Mr. Dai Yuming, Vice Mayor of the Sanya Municipal People’s Government delivered a speech at the press conference.
The seven-day event will feature 64 players from home and abroad competing for total prize money of US $175,000. The championship winner will take home USD $44,000. The WPA World’s top-10 players, including Pan Xiaoting, Liu Shasha, and Jasmin Ouschan, will compete for the title.
The Women’s Nine-Ball World Championship was founded in 1990, and was introduced to China in 2009. The tournament has been held in four places in China — Shenyang, Guilin, Emeishan, and Hainan’s Chengmai county.
As the Women’s Nine-Ball World Championship has grown in renown in China, a number of Chinese players have gained recognition in international sports circles.
