Tourism talent hunt at 1st Sanya Tourist Products Design Contest
The 1st Greater Sanya Tourism Product Innovative Design Contest officially kicked off in Sanya on July 4th, 2019.
The event was organized by the tourism authorities from Sanya City and three counties in Greater Sanya Tourism Economic Circle, namely, Lingshui, Ledong, and Baoting.
On July 4th, 2019, the Provincial Intellectual Property Association, Sanya Federation of Tourism Associations and Hainan Oriental Guoxin Law Firm jointly signed a cooperation agreement in Sanya to strengthen the protection of intellectual property rights of tourism products, and to accelerate the establishment of Sanya Tourist Intellectual Property Service Station.
Themed “In-depth tours enrich travel experience in Greater Sanya,” the contest will invite Hainan-based travel agencies and online tour operators to create innovative designs for boutique travel routes in the Greater Sanya Tourism Economic Circle to be promoted in the future.
The travel route designs will be based on a variety of themed tourism products, including traditional sightseeing tours, vacation holiday tours, eco-tourism, shopping tourism, fashion tourism, wedding tourism, food tourism, study tours, family travel, cruise and yacht tours, low-altitude tourism, islets tourism, healthcare tourism, cultural tourism, MICE travel, sports tourism, rural village tours, and more.
The travel routes will be designed to integrate tourism resources within the Greater Sanya Tourism Economic Circle, highlighting local history, culture, folk customs, and modern fashion with the goal of displaying the unique charms of Greater Sanya.
Fifty winning designs will be selected at the contest’s conclusion. The winning designs will include ten travel routes designed for the Greater Sanya Tourism Economic Circle, six high-quality travel routes designed for wedding and family travel, and combo routes designed for the 17 specific tourist source markets. Each region will feature two high-quality routes. Each of the winners will be awarded a RMB 5,000 prize.
According to the organizing committee, winning travel routes designs will be widely promoted online and offline in the seventeen domestic and international markets over the next three years (2019 to 2021).
The campaign, inspired by the island province’s goal of becoming an international tourism consumption center, will advance the region’s supply-side structural reform in the tourism sector, develop brand awareness and recognition of Greater Sanya in the domestic and international tourism markets, and further enhance the quality of tourism consumer services.
The 1st Sanya Tourist Products Design Contest will last till August 31th, 2019.
The travel agencies in tourist source markets, online tour operators and travel experts from home and abroad are welcomed to join with the Hainan-based travel agencies for the contest.
