Hainanese surfer wins Bodyboard Champs at China Flowboard Open
Following an amazing day of great waves and exciting flowboarding performances, the 2017 China Flowboard Open successfully concluded in Beijing on August 20th. Twenty-seven elite flowriders from home and abroad joined an epic event full of spills and airs, crazy carving, spraying waves, and awesome shredding.
Hainanese flowboarding hero Liu Jing clinched the individual champion title after demonstrating his unmatched style and commitment in the strapless men’s bodyboard division, while the USA’s and Germany’s riders took second and third place, respectively.
In the flowboard competition division, rider Liu Jing also proved his worth to the judges and secured second place. Ukraine-born Andrew Seed won the first place trophy while Chinese Li Zixuan earned third place.
Born in Ledong County, Hainan Province, Liu Jing grew up surrounded by beach culture and water sports. With extensive experience in more than 20 water sports, including motorboating, sailing, and water-powered jetpacks, he has worked as a watersports coach at Wuzhizhou Island in Sanya for 8 years since 2009.
