Updated: 2017-07-26 13:23:57

Two events — a travel operator symposium titled “Beautiful Sanya, Romantic Paradise” and a Sanya tourism promotional event — were held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on July 25th, 2017. The events were hosted by the Sanya Municipal People’s Government and the Sanya Tourism Development Commission.

These events were part of the “Sanya Celebration” overseas tourism promotion campaign launched by the Sanya government in 2017.

The “Beautiful Sanya, Romantic Paradise” symposium aimed to explore and develop more Sanya tourism products catered to Malaysian tourists with the local travel operators in Malaysia, and discussed the possibility of increasing the number of flights on existing air routes from Malaysia to Sanya. The event received support from local travel operators. Thirty-two representatives from 21 local travel agencies including Eden Tour, ABC Holiday, and Indigo Holiday attended the symposium.

During the symposium, Wu Fan, Deputy General Manager of the Hainan United Air Travel Group, announced that his organization plans to increase the number of direct flights from Sanya to Kuala Lumpur to twice a week this September.

Thanks to Hainan’s convenient visa policy and Sanya’s rich tourism resources, the soon-to-be-increased flights between Sanya and Kuala Lumpur are expected to bring more personalized and in-depth tour products to Malaysian tourists.

The Sanya tourism promotional event was held at the 1 Utama Shopping Centre. It set up a variety of display areas to showcase Sanya’s beautiful natural scenery, its charming culinary culture, and the customs and culture of Sanya’s Li People. The event also featured a VR tour of Sanya for visitors to try. Other marquee programs at the event included song-and-dance performances by Li ethnic minority people, and displays about the craftsmanship of the famous Li Brocade.
