Sanya launches campaign to promote its tourism charm in Taiwan
A Sanya tourism promotional campaign organized by the Sanya Tourism Development Commission successfully concluded in Taiwan on May 28th, 2018.
The campaign featured a series of promotional meetings in Taiwanese cities including Yilan, Hualien, Taichung, and Kaohsiung. The campaign also included a promotional booth at the 2018 ATTA Taichung International Travel Fair.
The Sanya tourism delegation advertised the city’s many rich tourism resources and its family-friendly promotional tour products, as well as products designed for newlyweds, MICE travelers, and golf enthusiasts. The delegation’s aim was to heighten awareness of Sanya’s offerings and increase the number of Taiwanese travelers choosing Sanya as a holiday destination.
Taiwan travel agencies who attended the meeting noted that the event allowed them to get a much better understanding of Sanya, as the destination continues to get increased attention from Taiwanese travelers for its many charms. “It was a successful promotional event,” said Lou Liping, Head of the Hualien Association of Travel Agents. “We learned that Sanya is a charming vacation destination with substantial tourism resources, and we look forward to future collaboration with Sanya tourism authorities in the near future.”
Mr. Tang Sixian, Consulting Director of the Sanya Tourism Development Commission had discussions with the representatives from the Kaohsiung Association of Travel Agents.
Mr. Wu Yingliang, Head of the Kaohsiung Association of Travel Agents, added the following: “Sanya is becoming a favorite destination among tourists from Kaohsiung and southern Taiwan. This is the result of years of tourism promotion efforts in the two regions. We are expecting to develop a direct charter flight service between Kaohsiung and Sanya in the coming months, and we hope to work further with Sanya’s tourism service providers to develop more cruise tourism products, in a move to increase the city’s appeal as a vacation destination to travelers from Taiwan.”

Mr. Wu Zhixian, Head of Yilan S. Association Travel Agents, said, “Taiwan and Sanya have a lot of things in common in terms of natural resources, culture, and many other areas. With premier golf courses and international hotel brands, Sanya has become one of the most sought-after vacation destinations among up-market Taiwanese travelers. I believe that an increasing number of Taiwanese travelers will view Sanya as a premium travel destination in the future.”

On April 18th, a new Sanya-to-Taichung direct air route was officially launched, marking Sanya’s second recent newly added regional air route to Taiwan. The Sanya-Taichung route runs twice a week on Wednesdays and Sundays.
Meanwhile, the Sanya tourism delegation attended the 2018 ATTA Taichung International Travel Fair, which was held from May 25th to 28th, 2018. The tropical-style exhibition booth — decorated with balloon coconut trees, mini-golf courses, and beautiful photos — showcased the city’s special tourism resources. The multi-way on-site interaction at the fair also improved the popularity of Sanya among Taiwanese attendees.
“Sanya’s tourism industry has entered its ‘version 3.0’ stage of development,” said Mr. Tang Sixian, Consulting Director of the Sanya Tourism Development Commission. “The city’s development focus has turned from traditional sightseeing to leisure activities and vacation packages. We hope that through these promotional events, Taiwanese tourists will gain a better understanding of the progress that Sanya has made in recent years. The city is dedicating to providing a sound tourism environment and services at a high standard of quality to meet and even exceed the expectations of various categories of Taiwanese tourists.”
