Global medicine, Sanya’s 3-yr plan to open outpatient units
In order to advance development in health care and to provide better heath care services for international patients, Sanya is planning to set up international outpatient departments in its grade-three general hospitals and traditional Chinese medicine hospitals over the next three years.
The city will open international outpatient departments in three hospitals, namely, the Third People’s Hospital of Hainan Province, Sanya People’s Hospital, and Sanya Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
A medical service system that aims to meet international standards will begin to form within three years. Hospitals plan to install standardized bilingual signs, cultivate service providers, and improve language skills while setting reasonable prices, according to the plan.
In addition, the city’s three hospitals — Sanya People’s Hospital, Sanya Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Sanya Women and Children’s Healthcare Hospital — will cooperate with top domestic hospitals and medical institutes to improve their medical services. Their aim is to attain Joint Commission International (JCI) international accreditation. (JCI is a leading international evaluator of hospital quality that works to improve patient safety and quality of health care for the international community.)
More high-quality medical resources such as the Evergrande Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital, Peking University Hospital of Stomatology (Sanya Branch), and Haitang Bay Shang Gong Gu Valley Healthcare Center will be built in the city, and international medical talents will be welcomed to lecture and practice medicine in Sanya.
Sanya’s abundant offshore tourism resources and tropical scenery have made the city a popular resort for international beach-goers.
