PwC world leading consultancy firm to build university in Sanya
PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), the world-leading professional consultancy firm, has announced that it will establish a PwC University in Sanya.
On November 6th, 2019, a Sanya delegation signed an agreement with PwC China to cooperate on the establishment of a PwC University in the city. The agreement was signed at the US-China Sub-National Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum and Hainan Free Trade Zone (Port) Trade and Investment Promotion Seminar in Shanghai.
As the city’s first international innovation hub, the University will deliver a boost to innovation, talent development, and city competitiveness in Sanya. The project will also support the development of the Hainan Free Trade Zone (Port).
According to the agreement, construction will begin on the project in 2020, and the facility will open in 2023. Total estimated investment in the project is RMB 1 billion. The university will be a test of international innovation, and a demonstration base that will help to boost innovation in Sanya and the development of Hainan’s pilot free trade zone (FTZ).
The university will focus on leadership development and creative innovation for future talented individuals. PwC will also support and provide comprehensive solutions for innovative overseas companies setting up local offices in Sanya. Moving forward, the project will add value to the city’s development by leveraging PwC’s “City+” Innovative Services.
