Sanya incorporates virtual membership card in smart tourism
To better promote the Greater Sanya tourism circle and integrate the regional tourism resources to insure a safe travel environment, an WeChat account for Greater Sanya holistic smart tourism was launched recently.
The smart tourism program, initiated by the Sanya Tourism Development Commission, provides a one-stop services that integrate dining, transportation, accommodation, entertaiment, shopping services, tourism enquiries & complaints as well as mobile payments to creates a more convenient tourism environment for residents and tourists.
To promote businesses of local merchants, a virtual membership card - Seafood Card will be launched on September 1st, 2017. WeChat users can search and follow the subscription account “大三亚全域智慧旅游” on WeChat, or scan the QR code at the airport, railway stations, visitor information centers and seafood restaurants to automatically become a member.
Up to now, 39 starred-rated seafood restaurants and 50 trustworthy seafood business operators are subject to the services by the Sanya Tourism Association and Sanya Seafood Stalls Association for the implementation of the program.
The virtual membership card will enable customers to be given details on vendors’ latest activities, while at the same time help local merchants gain new followers and promote their businesses.
The system in the future will cover wider types of businesses including hotels, scenic spots and wedding photographers. By combining all the tourism products, tourists could experience easy and fun travel in the city.
The program marks a new step in Sanya’s “Smart Travel” tourism development strategy that will create a fair and orderly tourism market. To become a qualified online merchant, the local tour operators are required to register with authorization by relevant departments and then they can sell their services via the platform. Those who violate the rule will have their name exposed and be removed from the online platform.
