Sanya tourism is a leading brand in global marketing & promotion
Sanya is already well known in China for its pleasant climate and beautiful landscapes. Now, the city is expanding its popularity internationally through overseas marketing promotions and brand imaging.
Last year, Sanya tourism received the “China’s Top 15 Global Brands Award 2017” award, which was jointly conferred by the professional service firm KPMG and Facebook. The Sanya brand was chosen for its outstanding performance in overseas marketing and promotion. The rankings were compiled according to an analysis of the brand value of 178 Chinese companies and enterprises in overseas marketplaces, partly based on data from Facebook.
Sanya has been working to promote itself in international markets as an international tropical seaside tourist destination. The city is promoting the recognition and reputation of its tourism brand with multiple marketing strategies, including the “Go Out and Invite In” marketing strategy, new media channels, and international air routes.
Sanya opened accounts on major overseas social networking and travel review platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube, Pinterest, TripAdvisor, and LinkedIn. The city also joined hands with the mainstream media in Russia and South Korea in an effort to further promote the city in the international tourism market.
In 2017, passenger throughput at the airport’s international terminal reached 690,900, a year-on-year increase of about 54 percent. The number of inbound passengers to Sanya has soared to a record high for the airport.
The city is also building more world-class resort projects, including the Atlantis Sanya project, Haichang Dream World, and Changlong Water Park. Those projects will greatly enrich the variety of tourism products available in Sanya and enhance tourism quality in the region.
