Upgraded road section eases traffic between Sanya's Tiandu area and Yalong Bay
A renovation project on the road section connecting Sanya’s Tiandu area and the Yalong Bay National Resort District is complete. The road was reopened to traffic at 10:00 a.m. on January 8th, 2019.
The upgraded road section, which is 2,850 meters long, is located along the border of Jiyang District and Yalong Bay National Resort District. It is an important thoroughfare connecting Sanya’s downtown area with the Haikou-Yulin East Highway, which is part of the China National Highway 233 (G223).
The road section has been expanded to six lanes and is 40 meters wide, with a designed speed of 60 kilometers per hour. The new roadway is expected to greatly ease traffic pressure between Sanya’s downtown area and the city’s eastern area, and at the Damao Tunnel and Yingbin Tunnel.
