Fueled by Sanya’s overseas tourism promotion campaigns and its subsidy policies for the opening of international flights, several direct air routes from Russia to Sanya have carried an increasing number of Russian tourists in recent months.

TEZ TOUR, one of the biggest tour operators in CIS and Eastern Europe, revealed at a tourism promotional event held in Yekaterinburg on March 16th, 2017 that the company will replace Boeing 757 planes with Airbus’s A300 aircraft on three direct air routes from Sanya to Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, and Krasnoyarsk in the second half of this year. The change is expected to bring five to six hundred more Russian tourists to Sanya every week.

The event was held in Yekaterinburg’s Atrium Palace Hotel. About 120 people from local tourism enterprises, media outlets, tourism authorities, the Yekaterinburg Foreign Affairs Authority, and the business sector attended the event.

Mr. Maksim Yuryevich, Chairman of the Yekaterinburg Foreign Affairs Authority welcomed the Sanya delegation and said that Sanya has become one of the most popular tourist destinations among the people of Yekaterinburg. He hoped that the two cities would continue to seek more in-depth cooperation in the tourism field.

The Sanya delegation gave a detailed introduction of Sanya’s tourism products and subsidy policies for the opening of international air routes.

During the event, representatives from Resort Intime Sanya, Harman Resort Hotel Sanya, Wyndham Sanya Bay, Palm Beach Resort and Spa Sanya, Nanwan Monkey Island, and the Yanoda Rainforest Cultural Tourism Zone made presentations to the attending guests.

An interview on the improvement and management of Sanya’s tourism environment was held after the promotional event with Mr. Zhang Lixun, Director of the Sanya Administration of Tourism Quality Supervision.
