Sanya's perfected ferry transfer of cruise liner passengers
“Genting Dream,” the flagship cruise liner of Asia’s pioneer luxury cruise line Dream Cruises, docked at the Sanya Phoenix Island international Cruise Terminal on June 8th, 2017, bringing a total of 3,009 tourists to the tropical coastal city.
“Genting Dream” was on its “Hong Kong – Vietnam – Sanya – Hong Kong” cruise route. According to reports, 204 passengers from the cruise ship chose to take a ride on Sanya’s water bus – the “Blue Sea Jet” – to major tourist attractions including the Nanshan Cultural Tourism Zone, the Tianya Haijiao Scenic Spot, West Island, and Sanya Bay’s Coconut Dream Corridor.
It was the first time that Sanya’s water bus provided seamless passenger transportation from the cruise terminal to the city’s major tourist attractions, saving a lot of time for international cruise tourists who want to take a quick sightseeing tour to these places.
Sanya opened its water bus route along its western coast on January 25th, 2017. The water bus route is operated by cruiser “Blue Sea Jet,” with a passenger capacity of 350. The cruiser runs twice daily, departing from Luhuitou Wharf at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., making a stopover at Tianya Haijiao Scenic Spot, and finally docking at the Nanshan Cultural Tourism Zone Wharf.
Genting Dream has a length of 335.33 meters, a width of 39.7 meters, a size of 150,695 GT, and a top speed of over 23 knots. The ship accommodates 3,400 guests and 2,016 crew members, giving the German-built ship the largest guest-to-space ratio, of 45 tons per guest, as well as the highest crew-to-guest ratio, at 1-to-1.7, of any Asia Pacific ship.
