1. Tourist Travel Rights
Your legal rights while travelling in Hainan are guaranteed in accordance with the laws of The People’s Republic of China.
According to Article 4 in the Chapter 1 of the Law of the People’s Republic of China on the Control of the Entry and Exit of Aliens, the Chinese Government shall protect the lawful rights and interests of aliens on Chinese territory.
2. If traveling with a travel agency:
According to the Law of the People’s Republic of China on the Protection of Consumer Rights and Interests, the rights and interests of tourists should not be illegally infringed.
If part of a tour group, tourists can elect a representative to exercise supervisory rights over service quality during the trip.
Before participating in a tour visitors should check that the travel agency has a business license (displayed in clear public view in the company’s office). A contract should be signed with the agency stating the details of the services to be provided and the standards expected.
Whilst in Sanya you have the right to demand respect for your personal dignity and cultural customs and habits. You have the right to select staff, services or commodities, and refuse any service beyond that agreed upon in a contract.
You enjoy the right to demand service that safeguards your personal safety and possessions.
3. Independent Travellers:
Independent travellers who face disputes over purchases they have made should refer to the Law of the People’s Republic of China regarding the Protection of Consumer Rights and Interests.
